Close your eyes, and think back to your childhood. As a black, young girl, what messages were ingrained in your head about beauty and hair? Were you taught that straightening your hair with chemicals or constantly flat ironing were necessary to achieve society’s definition of beauty?

Kyra Shea Medleys is here to shatter the societal standards of beauty from times past and to champion women who are embracing their natural hair. There is a certain amount of confidence that wearing your hair all natural requires. You are basically saying, “Hey world! This is me. Like it or not.”

Kyra Shea Queen CurlHawk is one beauty influencer that embodies this confidence. With more than 4,000 followers on Instagram, she is a force to be reckoned with. Curlhawkqueen has been featured in Essence and Eden BodyWorks. This collegiate cutie has a Master’s to her name and has an affinity for afro beauty, lifestyle and self-love.

She is the founder of Curl Hawk Crown, an online social movement dedicated to uplifting “all natural hair as an art and celebrating those who unapologetically rock their Curl Hawk.” There, she uplifts women in their natural hair care journey by showcasing the beauty and diversity of curly, kinky and wavy hair. Curlhawkqueen believes natural hair is art, a gift, a beauty to prize and treasure. Kyra Shea Medleys could not agree more!

What made you want to try our products?

I met Kyra at an event awhile back, and we’ve been cool ever since! Her brand represents positivity and nurture within the natural hair community, and I loved that message! I love y’all! Best out there!

Butter Cream! The Original Butter Cream is my favorite and key for edges.

Both my hair and skin!

What would you say to a friend to encourage them to try natural beauty care products?

Women of color should embrace their natural hair and skin because it’s uplifting their true selves! Self love is necessary when embracing who you are. Why not love the truth? Your natural hair is beautiful.
